We recently reported on the release of Toxic Crusaders, a new retro-style brawler from the masters of the genre, Retroware. We didn’t know the release of the sludge-soaked slugfest but now have confirmation that Toxic Crusaders will release to all platforms on the 4th of December 2025. In a statement, Retroware said. “Retroware is thrilled to announce that the studio’s highly anticipated beat-’em-up, Toxic Crusaders, will slug its way onto consoles and Steam.” Those wanting a sneak peek at what’s on offer can check out the Steam demo.
To celebrate the announcement, Retroware has released a new gameplay trailer showcasing the mutant-filled mayhem that awaits in the game, which takes its inspiration from the classic coin-op brawlers from the 1990s. From gyms to junkyards and boutiques to bathrooms, watch as the Toxic Crusaders, Toxie, Nozone, Junkyard, Major Disaster, Headbanger, Yvonne, and Mrs. Junko mop the Radiation Rangers off the streets of Tromaville in the footage below.
