Independent developer Jorge Rodriguez and Lunar Workshop have announced that Eclipse Breaker, a fast-paced, tactical action roguelite with a 90s-inspired vibe, will showcase its public demo during Steam Next Fest, starting October 13. This refresh spotlights the game’s timing-driven combat and build experimentation across a curated slice of Story Mode, alongside the all-new Boss Rush mode, designed for quick 15-minute runs and “just one more try” moments.
At the heart of Eclipse Breaker is Ember, once the star of a long-forgotten JRPG. Twenty-five years later, she returns to find the game itself has changed. What was once a JRPG tale has morphed into a high-intensity roguelite; her companions linger as ghosts, the rules have shifted, and the Divine Realm no longer plays fair. Ember must carve her way through elemental gods and save a world that barely remembers her.
Every fight in Eclipse Breaker is a clutch moment waiting to happen. Enemies telegraph their moves, and it’s on you to read the tells, nail the timing, and decide if you’re going for a parry, a last-second dodge, or dropping a massive ability to turn the tide. Between runs, you’ll unlock companions, stack gear, and chase wild build combos that make every attempt feel different and every victory hard-earned.
What is new in this demo:
Expanded World and Story – Explore new elemental zones and face tougher enemies and bosses.
Fresh Allies and Abilities – Unlock additional companions, each bringing unique abilities to reshape your strategy.
More Progression Unlocks – Access more upgrades and gear to experiment with powerful build synergies.
Sharper combat – Faster rewards, refined balance, and clearer enemy telegraphs make every encounter more intense.
