Flashback Flashes Back onto Saturn

Flashback, the popular 16-bit platform adventure game, which was originally released by Delphine Software in 1992, has received a new fan port to the Sega Saturn.

Flashback was notable on release for its impressive rotoscoped animation.

Such is Flashback’s enduring popularity that the game has received a number of official re-releases in recent years, including releases on Xbox One, and Evercade, with a modern remake of the game released on Xbox 360, PC, and PlayStation 3 in 2013.

The game also received a 3D sequel titled Fade to Black, which was released on PlayStation and PC in 1995.

This new Sega Saturn port of Flashback is an update of an earlier Saturn fan port of the game by HkZ, and it’s based on the Apple Macintosh version of the game. This new Saturn fan port of Flashback has been created by VBT.

Features of VBT’s new Sega Saturn fan port of Flashback include English and French language support, stable 30 FPS rendering, 5-6 Additional cutscenes, CDDA soundtracks from the Mega CD version of the game, a Saturn-exclusive “Resume game” menu, and more.
