Retro specialist publishers PixelHeart have announced that Punky Circus, a 1996 Neo Geo MVS title, will be available to buy on Neo Geo CD from October 24th, 2025. The game has already been ported to the Neo Geo AES in 2023 and is still available for purchase, but it’s exciting to see the game now ready to be played on all Neo Geo hardware. Interested gamers can still pre-order Punky Circus for the Neo Geo CD at a discounted rate. The pack includes the game on CD, a manual, and the all-important spine card.

Punky Circus is a puzzle action game developed by Visco under the name of “Neo Mr. Do!” and published by SNK in 1996 on Neo Geo MVS. It has since been licensed by PixelHeart in 2020, and this version of the game has undergone some cosmetic changes. 

In Punky Circus, players embody a clown navigating a vibrant world of animated drawings. Along the way, they’ll be pursued by enemies that are defeated using a power ball or by dropping specific elements from the environment. If players eliminate them all or collect all the items, they’ll complete the level and move on to the next. During the game, players can also gather letters to spell the word “EXTRA,” unlocking a bonus stage where they can strive for maximum points.
