Japanese-exclusive Gaudi: Winds Of Barcelona Gets Western Release

Gaudi: Winds of Barcelona is a 1989 graphic adventure from developer Wolf Team. It was originally released solely in Japan, with no other version ever being made. Now, retro publisher Shinyuden, which has previously released Traysia and Vixen 357, is releasing the first translated version of Gaudi: Winds of Barcelona for PC. Featuring an extensive translation of over 27,000 words from the original Japanese text, the game will be released on October 9th, 2026, and is currently available for pre-order.

Set in Barcelona in 1992, Gaudi: Winds of Barcelona takes place during the month of the Olympics and features real streets, neighborhoods, and environments interpreted and presented through the quirky and affectionate eyes of the original Japanese developers. The game is a passionate look at Catalan culture, with the iconic monuments of the famous architect Antoni Gaudí meticulously recreated in stylish, realistic pixel art.

Players take on the role of former Scotland Yard detective Henry Howard, now an “information consultant” based in Barcelona, and guide Henry on a twisting noir journey to stop a devious terrorist threat that threatens the entire country of Spain. Dive into the tense tale where each step moves Henry one step closer to the devastating truth, where danger, romance, and adventure await around every corner.
