We first reported on Shroomwood, a new top-down 2D action roguelike from developer Sporelite Games and publisher Zemore Indie Games, when the game was playtested at the Seattle Indie Expo. Now, the game is out on Steam Early Access, priced at $8.99 with a discount for those who get in early. Players can take on the role of a little mushroom exploring ever-changing forests, battling infested forest creatures, dual-wielding weapons with awesome power, and collecting enchanted items.
Shroomwood is set in a dynamic, transforming wilderness, where each run is unique, and players play as a tiny, brave mushroom warrior equipped with a combination of melee and ranged weapons to fight peculiar forest creatures. The game allows players to engage in fast-paced combat across procedurally generated environments. There is also a chance to discover, dual-wield, and upgrade a wide arsenal of weapons and modifiers.
Players will also traverse vibrant biomes filled with slime, zombie mushrooms, and countless surprises lurking within the forest. Finally, they will uncover the hidden Shroomstead hub, a clearing where NPCs await, upgrades happen, and mysteries deepen between runs.

A dynamic top-down roguelike experience with bullet hell-style combat
