Ace Driver has been announced as this week’s release in Hamster Corporation’s Arcade Archives and Arcade Archives 2 lines of emulated coin-op titles for modern formats, following last week’s release of Tag Team Wrestling, on which we reported previously.
Hamster Corporation describes Ace Driver thusly: “Experience the essence of racing with breathtaking racetracks and authentic handling. Choose a class based on your player level and charge through the game! Who is the true ACE DRIVER!?”
The game was originally released into arcades by Namco back in 1994. Back then, the eight-player version of Ace Driver was particularly well received, though the Arcade Archives version only offers single player mode, with the Arcade Archives 2 version allowing up to four players to play together. Despite hitting arcades over 30 years ago, there has never been a home release of Ace Driver, but that all changes tomorrow (May 28, 2026), when the Arcade Archives version of Ace Driver will speed onto Nintendo Switch and PlayStation 4, priced at $14.99 USD or local equivalent, and the Arcade Archives 2 version of the game, which adds a new Time Attack mode and multiplayer for up to four players, will speed onto Nintendo Switch 2, PlayStation 5, and Xbox Series X|S, priced at $16.99 USD or local equivalent.
As usual, purchasers of the Arcade Archives version of the game on Nintendo Switch or PlayStation 4 can upgrade to the Arcade Archives 2 version of the game on Nintendo Switch 2 and PlayStation 5 respectively, for $2.99 USD or local equivalent.
