Airborne Justice is a brand new arcade shooter inspired by the classic shmup titles of the 8-bit arcade era. It has been developed by SEEP and published by one of our favourite retro companies, Ratalaika Games. The vertical scrolling game is out September 26th, 2025, on Nintendo Switch, Xbox One, Xbox Series X/S, PlayStation 5, and PlayStation 4, priced at $4.99. This is another great-looking pixel art title from Ratalaika Games, bolstering its ever-growing catalogue of budget retro titles. The game is currently available on Steam following its November 2024 release.
In Airborne Justice, players will join pilot protagonists Rock and Stan for an arcade sky battle experience built for one or two players. They will also control a military helicopter capable of rapid fire and maneuver through the clouds while harnessing incredible firepower. During the game, players will obtain devastating weapons and bombs, shoot down imposing bosses, and unlock three additional modes of play.
From the launch trailer, it seems as though Airborne Justice pays homage to some of the early Toaplan classics, such as Tiger-Heli and Slap Fight. It has that classic 8-bit artwork and what will hopefully be a fantastic chiptune soundtrack.
