We’ve loved seeing Bubsy‘s return and shared our opinions in our recent review. Since then, developer Fabraz, alongside publisher Atari, has released the first major update called The Black Hole. The DLC adds 15 additional levels across the galaxy, leaderboards for each adventure, five unlockable outfits, four achievements, new dialogue with my feline friends, and a special reward for 100% completing the game. The new update to Bubsy 4D also includes a batch of bug fixes and quality-of-life improvements. We shall have to go back and check out the update to see if it changes our thoughts on this great title.
Bubsy‘s first 3D adventure since 1996 has been received well, and it’s great to see him back to his best after some great 2D games in the 90s. Some of the recent adventures have not lived up to what we would expect, but the (in)famous bobcat isn’t out of lives yet. Bubsy 4D is available now on PlayStation 4 and 5, Xbox One and Xbox Series X|S, Nintendo Switch, Nintendo Switch 2, PC via Steam, Epic Games Store and GOG. A physical collector’s edition for Nintendo Switch and Nintendo Switch 2 is also available directly from Atari.
