Chibi-Robo has been announced as the next GameCube game to be added to the Nintendo Switch 2’s collection of Nintendo Classics for subscribers to Nintendo Switch Online + Expansion Pack. This latest addition to the service follows the addition of Super Mario Strikers, which was added to Nintendo Switch 2’s Nintendo Classics selection on July 3rd, 2025, as we previously reported.
The game is a platform adventure game that was originally released on the GameCube back in 2005 (Japan), followed by a worldwide release a year later, in 2006. The game’s most recent release prior to this one was on Wii (in Japan only) in 2009.
In the game, the player assumes the role of the titular Chibi-Robo, a little robot whose mission is to “restore order to the Sanderson house and save the world.”
With slightly more obscure titles such as Chibi-Robo heading to Nintendo Classics, it certainly bodes well for the future of the service, as it suggests that we could be in for some of the GameCube’s less remembered titles. Who knows what we might see next, Doshin the Giant, perhaps? For now, Chibi-Robo will be added to the Nintendo Switch 2’s Switch Online Nintendo Classics service next Thursday, on August 21, 2025.
