Console Archives is a new line of classic console games emulated for modern formats.
The new Console Archives line joins Hamster Corporation’s long-running Arcade Archives line of emulated arcade titles, the latest of whichis Top Speed, as we reported earlier today.
The Console Archives line was announced during today’s Nintendo Direct Partner Showcase stream, and the line’s first two titles were also released on Nintendo Switch 2 today (February 5th, 2026).
Also announced during the Nintendo Direct Partner Showcase was a Super Bomberman Collection for Nintendo Switch and Nintendo Switch 2, as we reported earlier today.
The first two Console Archives releases are Tecmo’s 1990 NES title Ninja Gaiden II: The Dark Sword of Chaos, priced at $7.99 USD, and the the 1996 PlayStation title Cool Boarders, priced at $11.99 USD. The Nintendo Switch 2 versions were released today, with PlayStation 5 releases of both games set to follow next week, on February 14th, 2026.
Other titles set to join the Console Archives line include the 1986 Famicom title Doraemon; 1996’s Saturn and PlayStation shmup Sonic Wings Special; 1989 NES title Nobunaga’s Ambition.
Hamster Corporation says that the Console Archives series will offer: “a wide range of convenient features such as customizable button layouts and screen settings, along with anytime save and load functionality.”
As of yet, it seems that the Console Archives titles will not be receiving Xbox releases.
