Retro-styled Dice Shmup DeeSicks Demo Out On Steam

DeeSicks

Developer ByteRock Games has released the demo for retro-styled dice shooter DeeSicks on Steam following a successful run on itch.io. DeeSicks blends physics-based dice rolling with high-intensity bullet hell combat. Before every fight, players aim, collide, and manipulate dice on a board to shape their loadout. Every roll matters, every placement scales, and every run spirals into something bigger.

According to the developer, DeeSicks redefines the traditional bullet hell formula by shifting the focus from survival to power escalation. Rather than simply enduring increasingly difficult encounters, players build towards overwhelming strength, pushing their capabilities beyond conventional limits.

In DeeSicks, progression is structured through a three-phase gameplay loop. In the first phase, players engage with a physics-based dice system, aiming and manipulating dice across a board to influence available spells and modifiers. In the second phase, dice are strategically assigned to spell parameters, allowing players to shape and optimize their build through meaningful decisions and synergies. The final phase transitions into real-time combat, where the constructed build is unleashed against increasingly intense waves of enemies and large-scale boss encounters.
