We previously reported that Hamster Corporation has introduced a new Console Archives line alongside its Arcade Archives line. As the name suggests, Console Archives is a line of emulated console games from yesteryear, and, as per our previous post, the first two titles in the line were Cool Boarders and Ninja Gaiden II: The Dark Sword of Chaos, and as of yesterday, those initial two Console Archives titles have been joined by a rather quirky new addition in the form of the 8-bit shoot ‘em up creation tool Dezaemon.
Dezaemon is a shoot ‘em up creator that was originally released by Athena for the Famicom back in 1991, and now, some 35 years after Japanese Famicom gamers got to make their own shumps, Hamster Corporation has rfinally brought Dezaemon to the West for the first time, allowing owners of modern consoles to make their very own 8-bit shoot ‘em uos.
The program is similar to the home computer title Shoot ‘Em Up Construction Kit, in that it goffers easy to use tools for creating simple vertically scrolling shoot ‘em ups, or as Hamster Corporation puts it: “Dezaemon is “a game creation tool that allows you to produce your very own original shooting game.”
“You can design characters and backgrounds using pixel art, compose music with an 8-bit sound engine, and create a wide variety of enemy patterns by adjusting various parameters!”
So, if you fancy getting your 8-bit creative juices flow, why not give Dezaemon a blast? The Console Archives version of Dezaemon was released yesterday on Nintendo Switch 2 and PlayStation 5, priced at $7.99 USD.
