Pixel Art Prehistoric Platformer Dino Run 2 Smashes Kickstarter

Dino Run 2

Back in August, we reported on Dino Run 2, the ambitious sequel to the original indie hit. Since then, the crowdfunding campaign has gone live, and developer Pixeljam Games has announced that the project has gone way above what was expected and raised over $56,000 so far. Not only does this mean there will be enough funding to see the development over the line, but four stretch goals have been stamped through, so even more content will be coming players’ way on release.

Dino Run 2 is a hyper-evolved pixel art platformer where players race against extinction in lush prehistoric biomes, choose from a roster of specialized dinos, and customize their look with a deep library of cosmetic mods while escaping the unstoppable “doom wall”. It appears as though this dino-tastic romp is going to be a big success, and it’s fascinating to see what more will be coming as we edge closer to the 2026 expected release.

Every backer of the Dino Run 2 Kickstarter campaign receives instant access to the Multiplayer Sandbox, which contains world-building tools and first access to systems that will power the full game. The community has already created an impressive assortment of creations, including cozy sanctuaries, clever minigames, multiplayer activities, and more. All of which can be shared with other users to play alone, or with friends using P2P multiplayer.
