Effulgence RPG is a new retro-inspired role-playing game from developer Andrei Fomin. It’s due for release on Steam on November 20th, 2025, and will have a new demo available for retro RPG fans from October 13th, 2025. The demo will launch in time to be part of the latest Steam Next Fest. The game uses retro-styled ASCII characters as graphics and has a very 80s neon vibe to the setting. It also has some great old-school music on the trailer that will be a hit with 8-bit computer fans.
Effulgence RPG is a party-based RPG where enemies are more than obstacles; they’re raw material. Break them down into particles and forge weapons and gear using a matter printer. The entire world is built from text symbols arranged in 3D space, creating a uniquely striking visual style. The story revolves around uncovering the secrets of this dark, digital world through crafting and exploring.
