Escape 2049 is a platform game planned for release on Sega Genesis/Mega Drive, Game Boy Advance, and Steam.
Publisher Orionsoft has launched a Kickstarter campaign to raise funds to publish the game, with both digital and physical releases planned.
The game is new action puzzle platformer game that’s being developed initially for the Sega Genesis/Mega Drive, as well as being ported to Game Boy Advance and Steam.
In Escape 2049, players will assume the role of Elena, who must solve challenging puzzles and shoot her way through four different worlds, featuring 12 levels and 12 bosses.
The game’s story is that: “in the year 2042, following a clandestine operation to expose the corrupt government’s activities, a hacker named Shun, a member of the Truth Defenders Coalition, was imprisoned in Bulor 24 Prison! Despite his escape, Shun was deeply affected by the experience and decided to give up, withdrawing from society.
Seven years later, his partner Elena took up the fight again, more determined than ever to avenge what her husband had suffered.
Despite her extreme caution, the government had acquired AI-powered surveillance tools, she was discovered and imprisoned in a highly secured prison!” It takes place in four different environments (prison, asteroid, desert, and forest). The player must hoot enemies from all directions, collect access cards to open secure doors, use red round grenades to destroy walls blocking passage, and blue rectangle grenades to temporarily disable security cameras. Test your memory by hacking the prison computers to disable the laser barriers.
Escape 2049 is the sequel to Escape 2042, which was released in 2016. A deluxe version of the original game may be ordered for the Sega Genesis / Megadrive; the original Game Boy; and the Game Boy Advance alongside its sequel.
Rewards on offer in the Escape 2049 Kickstarter campaign include a boxed version of game for Sega Genesis/Mega Drive, including the game cartridge and a manual; or a Bonus Pack of the physical Genesis/Mega Drive release, which also includes an MDF Figurine and an A3 poster; or a physical version of Escape 2049 for the Gameboy Advance, which includes a box, manual and cartridge, and a Bonus Pack consisting of an MDF Figurine and an A3 size poster; or a Steam key of Escape 2049 for Windows or Linux;; or digital ROMs of the game for Sega Genesis/Mega Drive or Gane Boy Advance.
