Exo-Calibre is the latest release from indie publishers Eastasiasoft, whose games, such as Keeper’s Toll and Knight’s Night we’ve previously enjoyed.
Eastasiasoft’s latest title, Exo-Calibre is a vertical scrolling shoot ‘em up, and it looks set to be yet another retro-style winner from the ever-reliable publisher.
The game features the Ex-Calibre Knights, who are elite pilots in state-of-the-art exo-mechs, defending peace, justice and hope across the world! The Exo-Tech corporation is dedicated to developing advanced weapons and defenses to aid humanity, but when AI drones go haywire and start attacking the populous, it’s up to you to take control of the Ex-Calibre Knights and restore order by any means necessary!
In Exo-Calibre, the player take flight as one of three pilots, each with unique shot types and melee weapons, and engages in vertical scrolling shoot ’em up combat against swarms of automaton enemies, to take down screen-filling bosses and chase high scores, earning bonuses. Sounds our idea of a good time, as we’ll hopefully find out, when we review the game soon!
Exo-Calbre blasts onto PC, PS4, PS5, Switch, Xbox One, and Xbox Series X|S on June 25th, 2025. In the meantime, you can visit the Exo-Calibre page on the Eastasiasoft website.
