Pixel Art Deckbuilder Hungry Horrors Significant Demo Update

We first reported on Hungry Horrors, a new pixel art deckbuilding title from developer Clumsy Bear Studio, back in April 2025. Since then, a brand new demo has been launched just in time for the latest Steam Next Fest. The new demo additions for Hungry Horrors have been implemented following players’ feedback, which the developer says has been incredibly positive. In a statement, they said. “After a successfully served demo launch, Hungry Horrors is back with more ingredients, more buffs, and more folklore, cooked up through community feedback.”

This special update adds much more strategic depth and expands on the systems that made the first demo a hit with players, which currently holds a 96% “Very Positive” rating on Steam. Hungry Horrors is a culinary roguelite deckbuilder where you strategically cook and serve authentic traditional dishes to legendary monsters. Your deckbuilding skills and culinary decisions determine whether you successfully satisfy your monstrous guests or become their dinner.

What’s New in the Demo

Cookware – forget about relics. In our game, you collect Spatulas, Goblets, and Tygs

Seasoning – honey, gravy, or horseradish can all enhance your dishes

Spices – spice mixes tied to specific ingredients

Book of Taliesin – letting you buy upgrades for your next run

Brahan Seer and his Adder Stone – revealing each Horror’s favourite foods

Upgradable Dishes – some meals can now be improved mid-run

Redesigned Nook – inspired by real events from across the British Isles

And many other updates, improvements, and surprises are waiting to be uncovered!
