Hunt the Night is a retro-inspired action-RPG steeped in dark fantasy originally released on Steam in 2023. Now, developer Moonlight Games, alongside publishers SelectaPlay and Dangen Entertainment, has announced that Hunt the Night will be released to consoles on February 26th, 2026, with a physical release for PlayStation 5 and Switch coming later in the year. It will feature the full game on disc or cartridge with striking fantasy key art. Pre-orders for Hunt the Night are available now from local retailers.
Hunt the Night delivers fast, skill-driven combat, haunting pixel art, and a world locked in an endless cycle of destruction. Players take on the role of Vesper, a Stalker sworn to hold back the Night, as she journeys across the fallen land of Medhram in a desperate fight to preserve what remains of humanity.
Vesper’s abilities can be shaped to suit different playstyles and challenges, with deep customisation across weapons, upgrades, and stats such as critical damage, lifesteal, poison, and firepower. Exploration rewards those willing to brave Medhram’s ancient cathedrals, ruined libraries, lost kingdoms, and floating cities, while optional Hunts task players with tracking and defeating the Night’s most fearsome creatures for powerful rewards.
The world of Hunt the Night is further enriched by its atmospheric storytelling, tragic side characters, and an adaptive, immersive soundtrack featuring contributions from legendary composer Hiroki Kikuta (Secret of Mana), heightening every moment of tension, discovery, and combat.
