Hyper Sentinel Fusion is an upcoming roguelite shoot ‘em up that has some genuine retro gaming royalty behind it.
The game has been co-created by Andrew Hewson, the founder of 8-bit home computer publishers Hewson Consultants, and Hyper Sentinel Fusion intends tp fuse together two of Hewson’s best-loved C64 games (Uridium and Paradroid), while also drawing inspiration from the modern roguelite Hades. Or as Andrew and Rob Hewson put it, Hyper Sentinel Fusion will be an “intense shoot-em-up action with a roguelite twist from the creators of the critically-acclaimed Hyper Sentinel. It’s Uridium and Paradroid meets Hades in an explosive fusion of gameplay styles, from the founder of Hewson!”
Sounds like a genuine retro shooting experience, but with a modern roguelite twist, from people who really know their retro games!
Andrew and Rob Hewson describe the gameplay of Hyper sentinel Fusion as follows: “swoop and Shoot across the surface of colossal, procedurally generated space-destroyers and enemy bases. Harness the silky-smooth controls to dogfight, dodge and destroy surface defenses. Endlessly replayable sandbox shoot-em-up action!”
If the Kickstarter campaign is a success, Hyper Sentinel Fusion will blast its way onto PC, PlayStation 5, Mac, Xbox, and Nintendo Switch.
At the time of writing, the Kickstarter campaign has raised £4,507 of its £28,000 goal, with 31 days left to go. A demo of the game is available now on Steam, should you wish to try before you back.
