Hyperdimension Neptunia Re;Birth1 getting physical on Switch this year

Hyperdimension Neptunia ReBirth

Cult classic JRPG Hyperdimension Neptunia Re;Birth1 will be getting a physical release on Nintendo Switch in the summer of 2025. It may not be a game series Western gamers are overly familiar with, but Hyperdimension Neptunia is a well-regarded JRPG franchise in Japan. It has several mainline entries and a host of spinoffs, including 2D shooters and brawlers.

The game will launch with English and Traditional Chinese text and voiceovers, with the physical pre-orders opening on the 1st of May 2025. The new physical edition is only planned for release in Japan, however, PlayAsia do export games to other countries, so interested gamers can still grab one, considering the Switch is region-free.

In a press statement, publisher EastAsiaSoft said. “Today, we are thrilled to announce that we have once again partnered with Idea Factory to release Hyperdimension Neptunia Re;Birth1 for Nintendo Switch in Asia. This release will include English and Traditional Chinese text as well as voiceovers in English and Japanese.”

Hyperdimension Neptunia Re;Birth1 is a remake of the series’ first game, now featuring a wealth of prior downloadable content as extras, making this the definitive way to experience the cult classic JRPG. Players take control of heroine Neptune and the other CPU goddesses as they set out to save the world of Gamindustri. Hyperdimension Neptunia Re;Birth1 is a role-playing game with engaging 3D combat, immersive dungeon exploration, equipment crafting and unique systems to customise the gameplay experience, along with a beloved sense of humour that occasionally breaks the fourth wall.

As well as the standard physical copy, 2000 Limited Editions will be produced, which will include the game, manual, soundtrack CD, art book, Joy-Con stickers, mini case, acrylic standees and a numbered certificate in a collector’s box.
