A Lego PlayStation set was revealed during today’s State of Play PlayStation stream.
The console that can be built from the1911-piece set will be almost identical in size to the original 1994 PlayStation when built, measuring 10.5 inches/ 26 cm wide.
The Lego PlayStation will include a degree of interactivity via its “open” and “power” buttons, and it will come with a buildable controller that plugs into the console, as well as two removable dioramas, themed around two classic PS1 titles: Gran Turismo, and Ape Escape. These dioramas even feature customizable elements, namely, a miniature track complete with scaled down cars on the Grand Turismo diorama, and a nostalgic island scene with a swappable blue or red light on the monkey’s helmet on the Ape Escape diorama; and each diorama has been designed so that it can be displayed separately from the console, should you so wish.
The Lego PlayStation set is due to be released next month, on October 4, 2026, and it will cost $179.99 USD or local equivalent, directly from the Lego website, or from Lego retailers.
The Lego PlayStation follows similar Lego sets for the Nintendo Game Boy and Sega Genesis/Mega Drive, on which we have reported previously, as well as the similar Mattel Brick Shop XBOX set, which, in the true spirit of the console wars, will also be released next month.
