Let’s Build a Dungeon is an upcoming game development sim from developer Springloaded that has been receiving lots of great feedback from players since a demo first launched on Steam. Now, for the latest Steam Next Fest, Let’s Build a Dungeon has a huge update to its demo that adds a wealth of new features for budding game developers to try. The developer has described Let’s Build a Dungeon as “game dev simulator meets RPG builder”, and it has amassed over 160,000 wishlists on Steam.
The demo is available to play now, ahead of the launch of Steam Next Fest on February 23rd. Let’s Build a Dungeon is coming to Steam and Xbox in 2026, and for the first time, players are invited to try three of Let’s Build a Dungeon’s distinct game modes: Campaign Mode, Just Build Mode, and Creative Mode as part of Steam Next Fest.
While Campaign Mode offers a structured studio management experience, Just Build Mode and Creative Mode open up more flexible ways to design and experiment with creating custom RPG worlds. The Creative Mode demo provides a suite of game-making tools, including a character creation tool, conversation editor, and everything needed to make a custom RPG.
The new Steam Next Fest Demo includes:
Campaign Mode: An in-depth game development simulation combining studio management, RPG creation, and hands-on playtesting
Just Build Mode: A streamlined, low-pressure world-building experience powered by a relaxing deck-building system
Creative Mode: An open sandbox packed with accessible game-making tools and full creative control
Twitch Integration: Multiple options for collaborations, including inviting chat into the game as virtual players and letting them vote on key studio decisions
