Midnight Landing is this week’s release in Hamster Corporation’s Arcade Archives and Arcade Archives 2 lines of emulated arcade titles, following last week’s release of Munch Mobile, on which we previously reported.
This week’s release, Midnight Landing, is a flight simulation game that was originally released into arcades by Taito in 1987.
Hamster Corporation describes the gameplay of Midnight Landing as follows: “You take control of an aircraft soaring through the midnight sky, with the goal of landing safely at the airport.
The lights of the runway come into view, signalling the end of your journey through the night. Bring it to a perfect close with a beautiful landing.”
Midnight Landing was the first release in what would become a series of “Landing” games by Taito, and it would be followed by the subsequent arcade releases Top Landing (1988), Landing Gear (1996), and Landing High Japan (1999). We wonder if either of Midnight Landing’s arcade sequels will also land onto the Arcade Archives series?
The Arcade Archives version of Midnight Landing was released yesterday (October 23rd, 2025), on Nintendo Switch and PlayStation 4, priced at $7.99, and the Arcade Archives 2 version was released on Nintendo Switch 2, PlayStation 5, and Xbox Series X|S, priced at $9.99, as usual, the Arcade Archives version of the game can be upgrade to the Arcade Archives 2 version for $2.99.
