Murtop is a neo-retro game in the style of 80s arcade games, which plays rather like a cross between Dig Dug and Bomberman. Originally released on PC, Murtop later received a Nintendo Switch port published by our pals at Flynn’s Arcade. and Murtop is also one of the few games to date to receive a native Evercade port, which was released on the Indie Heroes 4 cartridge, as we previously reported.
And now, Murtop’s developer, Hiulit, has taken to X to announce that he’s bringing his 80s-influenced game to actual 80s hardware, in the form of a NES port of Mutop. Hiulit has also posted preview footage of Murtop’s NES conversion in his X post.
Having previously played and enjoyed Murtop on other formats, we at Retro News think the game will be a good fit for the NES, and we look forward to seeing the finished conversion.
But if you can’t wait until the NES version of Murtop is completed to get your bunny blasting on, you can still pick up the PC or Linux version of Murtop from itch.io, or the Nintendo Switch version from the Nintendo Store, with the Evercade version still available to purchase via the still in print Indie Heroes 4 cartridge.
