Necro Nancy is a new arcade-style game for NES by homebrew coder Jonny Dickinson, who has been creating NES games since 2020, under the name Grimware Games.

Dickinson intends for Necro Nancy to be his first commercial NES release, and he is seeking funds on Kickstarter to make Necro Nancy a reality. He describes Necro Nancy as “a brand-new spooky arcade shooter built for real NES hardware.”

With 42 days still left to run on the campaign, Grimware Games has already raised £4,666, smashing the target amount of £3,000.

Rewards on offer in the Necro Nancy Kickstarter campaign include a Digital Pack comprising the NES ROM of the game and a PDF manual; and a NES Cartridge Pack, which includes a physical grey NES cartridge of Necro Nancy, a branded dust cover, and the digital pack rewards; and also available is an NES Limited Edition CIB, which is limited to 250 copies, and which includes a translucent black cartridge, an original size NES game box, an instruction booklet, a branded dust sleeve, and all Digital Pack Rewards. At the time of writing, 239 copies of the Limited Edition CIB reward remain.

Also available is an NES Collectors Edition CIB (Violet), which is limited to just 100 numbered copies, and which includes a Kickstarter exclusive Violet limited edition signed copy of Necro Nancy. This includes Necro Nancy NES cart (violet), an original size NES game box, an instruction booklet, a branded dust sleeve, all Digital Pack rewards, and your name in the credits. At the time of writing, 95 copies of the Collectors Edition CIB(Violet) edition of Necro Nancy remain.

Or, for the really hardcore NES collectors, there’s the NES Limited Edition CIB (Skull) version of Necro Nancy, which is limited to just 25 copies, and which includes a Necro Nancy NES cart (Skull), an original size NES game box, an instruction booklet, a branded dust sleeve, all Digital Pack rewards, your name in the credits, a double-sided poster, and a limited edition mug. At the time of writing, just three copies of this version remain available!
