Neon Genesis Evangelion Animation Studio Gainax Announced That They Filed For Bankruptcy

Gainax announced that they filed for bankruptcy on May 29th, and the filing was accepted.

Gainax, known for producing animations and video games, such as “Neon Genesis Evangelion” (now owned by Studio Khara), “Royal Space Force: The Wings of Honnêamise,” “Nadia: The Secret of Blue Water,” and “Gunbuster.”

The decision to file for bankruptcy was made due to the deteriorating economic conditions in 2012, as well as the loss of operational capacity resulting from previous president’s misconduct, making it difficult to continue operations. The filing was accepted based on this assessment.

In response to this, comments were also made by Studio Khara, led by Hideaki Anno, a former member of Gainax, taking into account the relationship with Gainax’s current management.

I'm Mubarak AlSabah, born in '87, and I'm a big fan of retro games. I’ve been gaming since '93, so it's been a lifelong passion for me. Collecting retro games is my favorite hobby, and I have a great collection that takes you back in time. In addition to gaming, I also have 830+ premium domain names, which is another hobby that I love just as much. I started collecting domains in '97, combining my interest in the digital world with my love for nostalgic gaming.
