Neo Noir Pixel Art Title Neon Inferno Delayed

We’ve been covering the release of Neon Inferno, a new pixel art side-scrolling shooter from developer Zenovia Interactive and publisher Retroware. Like many retro fans, after playing the excellent demo, we were looking forward to seeing the full game in October. Sadly, the release date has been pushed back to November 20th, 2025, and a press statement explaining Neon Inferno’s delay has been released by the publisher.

The bottom line is that it wasn’t possible to have a simultaneous PC and console release due to working out certifications on the various platforms. While this is disappointing news, it’s understandable, and there is hope that it will actually lead to a better game overall. This was confirmed by Sri Kankanahalli, Neon Inferno’s creator, who said the team now has “more time to polish the experience and make it as amazing as possible”.

A press statement from the publisher backed this up by saying. “Though development is nearly complete, the delay stems from a combination of factors, including the differing certification processes across platforms and an increasingly crowded fall release calendar. The extra time will allow the team to apply additional polish and ensure Neon Inferno delivers the best experience possible when it blazes onto all major consoles and Steam this holiday season.”

Key Features:

Two-Player Co-op: With danger lurking around every street corner, wouldn’t you be better off with a friend?
