Retro-inspired Music Production Simulator Offbeat Drums Out New Update

We first reported on Offbeat, a retro-inspired music composing sim, earlier this year. The game is now out on Steam and has been enjoying overwhelmingly positive reviews from budding composers. Now, the first major update from developer Pantaloon has been released for Offbeat and coincides with a 15% discount to celebrate.

The update introduces the world’s tiniest violin alongside a reverb pedal, an EQ, effect buses, 11 peculiar new jobs, and a box under your desk for hiding all the equipment you don’t want to look at right now. There are also new ways to arrange your songs, new notebook lessons, and even a strange and beautiful new scale to unlock.

Alongside the Tiny Violin, the Studio Essentials Update for Offbeat also adds:

A reverb pedal and EQ to bring even more texture to your tracks

11 new jobs, including Cave People Techno, the Museum of Orbs and a self-hypnosis tape

Desk inventory, allowing you to hide your belongings in a box under the desk

Effect buses for sending audio from multiple sources through the same effect chain

New song-editing options that make adding repeats and variants simpler

Dorian mode, a strange and beautiful new scale to unlock

New notebook entries covering effect buses, reverb techniques and a little music theory

A slew of additional fixes and improvements
