Official Flash Carts for Nintendo in the 90s

Flash Cart Nintendo 90s

Yahel from Wrestling With Gaming recently shared a video discussing Nintendo’s official “Flash Carts” released in Japan during the late 90s. These special cartridges for the Super Famicom and Game Boy could be re-programmed at Lawson stores to store multiple games, but the process was complex and not cost-effective. Some pricing mistakes led to spending more on the cart and ROMs than buying the original games. The inability to re-program purchased games was a drawback. Despite being a major disappointment, the story behind these Flash Carts remains fascinating.
