R-Type Delta HD Boosted in an HD remaster of R-Type Delta, a 2.5D entry in the beloved side-scrolling shoot ‘em up series that was originally released on PlayStation some 27 years ago, back in 1998. And now, it has been revealed at last weekend’s IGN Live, that an HD remake of the game will be blasting onto modern formats later this year, courtesy of publishers Clear River Games. This remastered version will be titled R-Type Delta HD Boosted, and it will be blasting onto PC, Nintendo Switch, PlayStation 4, PlayStation 5, and Xbox, and here at Retro News, we can’t wait to take on the nefarious Bydo Empire once again, because it’s certainly “R-Type” of game!
The R-Type series dates back to 1987, when Irem first released the original game in the series into arcades. The game went on to receive conversions to a number of home formats, as well as spawning a number of sequels and spin-offs, going on to become one of the best loved video game series of all time, still going strong some 38 years after its debut.
Although we don’t yet have an exact release date for R-Type Delta HD Boosted, we know that it will be releasing sometime this year.
