Sega’s Exclusive PS1 Game Gets Fan Translation Release

Mini-Moni. Shakatto Tambourine! da Pyon! is a 2002 rhythm game developed by Sega for the PS1, notable for being the company’s only original game on that console. Inspired by Samba De Amigo, it features the popular Japanese pop group Mini Moni and includes songs from both Mini-Moni and Mornin’ Musume.

This game is part of the Shakatto Tambourine! series, which initially launched in arcades and is recognized for its unique tambourine-style controller. Unlike other entries in the series that showcase a variety of Japanese pop music, this title specifically brands Mini-Moni.

Although the series began during the Dreamcast era, it never appeared on a Sega console until Sega became a third-party developer; it released this Mini-Moni edition for the PS1, accompanied by a special tambourine controller compatible with a new fan translation hack by Hilltop, OldGameBox, and Cargodin.

You can download the patch now via HilltopWorks Patreon for free.
