After skipping a week, following the release of Terra Cresta, on which we reported previously, Hamster Corporation’s Console Archives line of retro console titles for modern formats made its return yesterday, with the release of the NES shooter Seicross.
Seicross has been described by Hamster Corporation as “a shooting game,” in which “you pilot a hover bike to save the peaceful people of Petra, whose homeland has been invaded by a once-coexisting tribe that has turned to evil.
As you rescue the captive people of Petra from enemy territory, your bike’s weight increases, causing it to consume fuel energy much faster—but in return, you’ll earn massive bonuses upon clearing the stage!”
Originally released as an arcade game in 1984, this 8-bit home conversion of Seicross was released on the NES and Famicom by Nichibutsu in 1986, and until this Console Archives release of the game, that console conversion of the game hasn’t been seen since. However, Hamster Corporation did release the arcade version of Seicross as part of their Arcade Archives line on Nintendo Switch and PlayStation 4 back in 2021.
The Console Archives version of Seicross was released on Nintendo Switch 2 and PlayStation 5 yesterday (April 9, 2026), priced at $7.99 USD or local equivalent.
