Slots & Daggers is a new fantasy roguelike from developer Friedman, known for Summerhouse and Islanders, and publisher Future Friend Games. The pixel art title has been announced for release on Steam later in 2025, accompanied by a reveal trailer that shows some of the game’s mechanics. The game uses good old-fashioned luck to allow players to triumph over an eccentric cast of foes, including Gunslingers of the Red Desert, Knights of Kul, and Hammer Goblins.
According to the developer, “Slots & Daggers is a retro-fantasy roguelike where battles are waged on a slot machine”. Players will use quick reflexes and a keen eye to turn the odds in their favour as they battle across a world of goblins, moths, and gunslingers, upgrading their arsenal as they go. In combat, players’ actions are decided by a spin of the wheel: attacks, potions, and spells are represented by symbols on the slot machine.
