Super Mario Strikers has been announced as the latest GameCube title to be added to the Nintendo Switch 2’s Nintendo Classics roster.
As we previously reported, Nintendo Online + Expansion Pack members can access a range of GameCube titles on Nintendo Switch 2, with three titles (Soul Calibur 2, The Legend of Zelda: the Wind Waker, and F-Zero GX) available upon the launch of the Nintendo Switch 2, and now, Nintendo has confirmed that the first additional title to be added to the Nintendo Classics GameCube selection for Nintendo Switch 2 will be Super Mario Strikers, which will be available from Thursday July 3rd 2025.
Super Mario Strikers is a Mario-style spin on a soccer game, and it was first released for GameCube back in 2005. The game was then later followed by two sequels: Mario Strikers Charged, which was released on the Wii in 2007, and Mario Strikers: Battle League, which was released on Nintendo Switch in 2022.
We do not yet know how often Nintendo intends to add new GameCube titles to the Nintendo Switch 2’s roster, but this first additional title comes four weeks after the initial GameCube titles launched with the Nintendo Switch 2, so perhaps they will be added around once a month?
