80s Film-inspired The Good Old Days Out Now On Switch And PC

The Good Old Days is a new pixel art action platformer from developer Yokogosystems and publisher Gravity. It has been described by the developer as a “step back into the golden glow of youthful dreams and daring quests” and that it’s a “2D Metroidvania-style action game inspired by the heart and spirit of classic ’80s adventure films”. It certainly has a Goonies feel about it and looks as though it could’ve been released on the SNES or Genesis.

The game is out now on Steam and Switch, with physical publisher Aksys Games announcing that The Good Old Days is available now for Nintendo Switch in North America, with other regions getting a physical version soon. There is currently a 10% discount on the digital version for those who get in early.

Players control Sean, a boy swept into an unforgettable day in the fictitious city of Arostia. With his friends by his side and a heavy debt left by his missing father hanging over him, he has only one day to set things right. Players will explore hidden areas, uncover secrets, and master clever gameplay mechanics in a world packed with charm, challenge, and nostalgia. With multiple endings based on your playstyle and choices, The Good Old Days encourages replayability and personal storytelling.
