UrbX Warriors Smashes Crowfund Goal in 1 Hour

UrbX Warriors

UrbX Warriors is a brand new arcade adventure in development for the Spectrum Next and PC. It has been designed by Tony Warriner, known for classics Beneath a Steel Sky and Broken Sword, and Stoo Cambridge, the artist on Sensible Soccer and Cannon Fodder. With two industry legends at the helm, it’s no wonder the UrbX Warriors crowdfunding campaign hit its target in under an hour.

To celebrate the launch of the Kickstarter campaign, Tony and Stoo, along with other team members, held a two and a half hour launch party on YouTube. The virtual get-together can still be viewed, and we’ve left a handy link below for those who didn’t make the party! The Kickstarter will be live for the next month, so there’s plenty of time to get involved. There is also an UrbX Warriors demo that can be played before deciding to pre-order a copy.

UrbX Warriors has several purchasing options from a simple digital release to a full-blown pack filled with extras and goodies. From what we’ve seen so far, most backers are going for the boxed edition that includes an SD card containing all the versions of the game, an instruction manual, and a classic ‘big box’. The standout item is certainly a unique arcade stick featuring the game’s protagonists.

But what about the actual game? UrbX Warriors is an adventure starring Alejandro and Ramona, urban explorers heading out on an investigation of an undiscovered temple. Their adventure soon turns into a nightmare once they awaken a dark force that has been dormant for thousands of years. The pair soon discover an entire city under the temple and must take on the might of an undead army. The game is filled with action, traps, puzzles, and all manner of scary enemies to take on.
