Video Hustler has been announced as this week’s release in Hamster Corporation’s Arcade Archives line for Nintendo Switch and PlayStation 4, and in the Arcade Archives 2 line for Nintendo Switch 2, PlayStation 5, and Xbox Series X|S.
This week’s release is considerably older than last week’s release of 1995’s Mach Breakers, on which we previously reported.
Indeed, Konami’s Video Hustler first hustled its way into Japanese arcades way back in 1981! The game was then released by Dynamo in North America under the alternative name of “Lil’ Hustler”.
The game is based on a simplified form of pool (pocket billiards), in which the player strikes the white cue ball to roll it, hits six balls, and sinks them into the pockets.
Hamster Corporation said of Video Hustler: “the game’s most distinctive feature is that the score can vary greatly depending on the numbers on the balls and the different multipliers assigned to each pocket.”
The Arcade Archives versions of Video Hustler for Nintendo Switch and PlayStation 4 will cost $7.99 (or local equivalent), and the Arcade Archives 2 versions of the game for Nintendo Switch 2, PlayStation 5, and Xbox series X|S will cost $9.99 (or local equivalent). Video Hustler will be released on each machine’s respective digital store tomorrow (September 11th, 2025).
