Capcom has officially announced a remaster of Onimusha 2: Samurai’s Destiny, set to release in 2025 for PlayStation 4, Xbox One, Nintendo Switch, and PC. The announcement was made during the latest Capcom Spotlight event, marking the first time this classic 2002 PlayStation 2 title will be available on modern platforms.

The remaster will feature high-definition visuals, widescreen support, and improved controls with analog-stick precision. However, it will not include substantial new content or major gameplay changes, following the approach of the 2018 Onimusha: Warlords remaster. While native versions for PS5 and Xbox Series X are not planned, the game will be playable on these consoles via backward compatibility.
This announcement has excited fans of the series, who hope this could lead to remasters of other Onimusha games in the future.
