Mortal Kombat: Legacy Kollection has been a barnstorming success for developer Digital Eclipse and Publisher Atari. But while players and critics alike were praising the brilliant compilation that not only gave access to a large variety of Mortal Kombat titles, it was a celebration of everything that makes the series great. One aspect that was picked up on early in the game’s release was the lack of online crossplay between the various platforms.
Well, Digital Eclipse has answered the call and has released a major update that fixes bugs, adds more online modes, and, most importantly, adds crossplay that many fans were asking for. Now, players from around the world can find bouts with anyone who has the collection on PlayStation, Xbox, Switch, or PC.
In a blog post on the game’s website, Digital Eclipse said. “We’re very happy to confirm that today’s update for Mortal Kombat: Legacy Kollection includes what has been far and away your most-requested feature. That’s right – it’s time for Krossplay! Krossplay is the Mortal Kombat series’ term for cross-platform online gameplay. When you’re in the mood to test your skills online against your best friends and favorite foes, you can now match up against opponents from any platform, no matter which platform you’re playing on!”
While this is the most exciting part of the latest update patch for Mortal Kombat: Legacy Kollection, other updates include new online modes, with 2-on-2 matches for four titles, and Variable Refresh Rate is now supported as a user-selectable option for certain platforms, as well as some minor bug fixes.
