4PGP is a retro-inspired arcade racing title from developer 3goo that was released to Switch and Switch 2 earlier this year. Now, the well-received racer has been ported to Steam and PlayStation 5, priced at $19.99, and promises “instant fun” as well as “90s-inspired arcade feel with modern performance”. 4PGP also brings seasoned arcade racing talent to the starting line, with design contributions from Kenji Sasaki, known for genre classics such as Sega Rally and Ridge Racer.
The game’s high-energy feel is matched by an original soundtrack composed by Tomoyuki Kawamura, whose work includes racing scores for titles such as Sega Rally, Virtua Racing, and Tokyo Xtreme Racer. With the release of the game on new platforms, the original Switch versions have also had a free upgrade released.
Key features in 4PGP:
Arcade Racing for Every Skill Level: Four difficulty settings, Rookie, Novice, Veteran, and Expert, as well as an Assist Mode for younger racers, make it easy for newcomers to jump in while giving experienced racers a real challenge.
Multiplayer Mayhem: Race solo or with up to four players in split-screen in either Championship or Quick Race mode.
Multiple Game Modes: Hop into Quick Races for instant fun, tackle a full set of courses in Championship Mode, or chase perfect laps in Time Attack Mode.
Unlockable Tracks and Vehicles: Race and unlock an expanding lineup of 14 circuits and build out your collection of 20 cars.
