Art of Fighting: Ryuko no Ken Gaiden R set to hit Neo Geo Premium Selection

SNK has announced that Art of Fighting: Ryuko no Ken Gaiden R will be the next of its Neo Geo titles to receive an enhanced release in its Neo Geo Premium Selection line on Steam, following the release of Ninja Master’s, on which we reported previously.

The Neo Geo Premium Selection version of Art of Fighting: Ryuko no Ken Gaiden R will be a remastered release of the 1996 Neo Geo fighting game ‘Art of Fighting: Ryuko no Ken Gaiden.

Of this release, SNK has said that: “two popular characters from the ‘Art of Fighting’ series, King and Yuri Sakazaki, who did not appear in the original ‘Art of Fighting Ryuko no Ken Gaiden,’ will be newly added as playable characters. Experience firsthand the beautiful yet fresh battles of these characters, who come alive through the side story system, ” and that it has also: “thoroughly adjusted the balance for existing characters to create even more exciting offense and defense. This broadens the range of tactics and enables even deeper strategic maneuvering.”

As with all of the Neo Geo Premium selection titles, the release will offer new modern features, which will include an “expanded ‘Training Mode’ for honing skills and ‘VS Mode’ for easy and intense battles. It includes new features that allow everyone from beginners to experienced players to fully enjoy themselves,” as well as online multiplayer.

Further details on the Neo Geo Premium Selection release of Art of Fighting: Ryuko no Ken Gaiden R are currently scant, with both the price and release date being listed as, simply: “to be announced later,” so it might be worth keeping an eye on the Neo Geo Premium Selection website for further details in due course.
