We previously told you about the Evercade Game of the Month titles for April, May, June and July of this year. For the sake of completeness, we should also let you know that the August 2026 Evercade Game of the Month was the homebrew NES platformer Slow Mole+, but last week, that was replaced with a homebrew title from that console’s competitor, when the homebrew Sega Master System RPG ReSeCom was launched as the September 2026 Evercade Game of the Month.
As usual, owners of Evercade VS, Evercade EXP, and Evercade Alpha devices can access the Evercade Game of the Month simply by updating their system software, and it will remain playable until the system software is updated again.
This month’s title has been developed by Fabien “cireza” Morand, who previously developed the homebrew RPG ‘The Sword of Stone,’ for the Sega Game Gear.
ReSeCom has been described as follows by Blaze Entertainment: “ ReSeCom is designed to be an interesting take on the role-playing game, with a particular focus on narrative rather than abstract mechanics, and a design philosophy that eliminates the concept of “grinding”.
And: “ in ReSeCom, you take on the role of Ashla, a young woman returning from a mission in the capital city of the planet ReSeCom-P3. Her father is missing, and her house is under government guard. From here, it’s up to you to determine what happens next, initially by choosing two of her father’s friends and subsequently finding your way onto three distinct narrative paths, each corresponding to a faction in the story. Each of the characters you pick as your allies early in the game will be most effective on one specific route, so it is a good idea to choose companions with a good mix of skills and two different recommended routes. Once you have completed all three routes, you will be able to see the full ending to the game.”
As with all of the other Evercade Game of the Month titles for 2026, ReSeCom will be included on next year’s Indie Heroes 5 Evercade cartridge.
