Pixel Art Mining Roguelike CitaDrill Digs Up A New Demo For Next Fest

CitaDrill is a new pixel art roguelike title from developer Studio Moka and publisher CobraTekku Games. Although no release date has been announced, a new demo, as well as a new tutorial, has been released and will be part of Steam Next Fest between October 19th and October 26th, 2026. The developer has described CitaDrill as an “inventive and mind-bending expansive roguelite action mining simulation” that “combines a strangely mesmeric, relaxing drilling and exploration experience with moments of intense strategy”.

The game allows players to drill into a mysterious planet, gather resources, unlock new buildings, and expand their city while adapting to an increasingly hostile environment. As the city grows, players must carefully plan their layout and make strategic decisions to survive waves of creatures and challenging boss fights, creating a balance between calm exploration and high-pressure tactical encounters. Each run gradually unlocks new ways to play, including different captains and city layouts, while also revealing more about the mysterious planet and the deeper story behind its world.

Key features in CitaDrill:

Drilling and mining deeper into the planet.

Building and expanding your underground city beneath a protective dome.

Collecting resources and deciding how to use them.

Upgrading your giant drill and your settlement.

Managing a crew of cats helping run the operation.

Defending the city against waves of creatures.

Replaying procedurally generated runs, giving it a roguelite/roguelike structure.
