The Commodore 64 Ultimate is going to be a souped-up, modern take on the beloved 8-bit Commodore 64 home computer.

The Commodore brand was recently purchased by a retro YouTuber by the name of Christian “Peri Fractic” Simpson, and he’s wasted no time in announcing his first Commodore product.

The Commodore 64 Ultimate will be compatible with original C64 cartridges, CRT TVs, original C64 cassettes, and original C64 disk drives, as well as benefiting from modern features such as HDMI, Wi-Fi game transfer, and USB.

Simpson promises that the Commodore 64 Ultimate is neither an emulator nor a PC, and it will be available to purchase  in several configurations, with pre-orders now open. with pre-orders for all open now. The Commodore 64 Ultimate: BASIC Beige will retail for $ 349.99, The Commodore 64 Ultimate: Founders Edition will retail at $ 549.99, and has been inspired by Inspired by the famous one millionth gold C64, and is a limited edition, with 5300 units remaining at the time of writing.

The Commodore 64 Ultimate: Starlight Edition comes in a sound-reactive hidden-LED color-changing case, and comes with what Commodore claims is  the world’s first translucent mechanical keyboard PCB. This model will retail for $ 399.99.

The machine received over 1,000 pre-orders in its first day and is set to ship between October and November 2025.
