Devastators has been released today as this week’s entry in Hamster Corporation’s Arcade Archives line of emulated coin-op titles on Nintendo Switch and PlayStation 4. Unlike last week’s release of Pop ’N Bounce, on which we previously reported, Devastators has also been  released in the Arcade Archives 2 line for Nintendo Switch 2, PlayStation 5, and Xbox Series X|S.

This week’s game is a third-person shooter, in which your character shoots into the screen from behind, in the vein of Cabal. Devastators was originally released into arcades by Konami in 1988, and it does not appear to have received a home release until now, nearly 40 years later!

Hamster Corporation had this to say about Devastators: “In this game, a group of elite mercenaries known as the “Devastators” are hired to save a developing nation from the invasion of a superpower.
This edition includes both the English version and the Japanese version, which features some differences in gameplay content.”

As usual, the Arcade Archives 2 release of the game adds a new “time Attack” mode.

The Arcade Archives version of Devastators is out today  on Nintendo Switch and PlayStation 4, priced at $7.99 USD or local equivalent.

The Arcade Archives 2 version of Devastators is out today  on Nintendo Switch 2, PlayStation 5, and Xbox Series X|S, priced at $9.99 USD or local equivalent.

As usual, purchasers of the Arcade Archives version of the game on Nintendo Switch or PlayStation 4 can upgrade to the Arcade Archives 2 versin of the game for Nintendo switch 2 and PlayStation 5 respectively at a later date for $2.99 USD.
