Pixeljam Games is bringing back the beloved Dino Run franchise with a bold reimagining of the iconic prehistoric platformer. Dino Run 2 lets players race against extinction in a pixelated world of danger and charm, escaping an apocalyptic wall of doom, selecting from a cast of uniquely specialized dinos, and customizing every scale and claw with a vast library of visual mods. Dino Run 2 has been in development for some time, but now the project is finding its legs and is getting ready for a crowdfunding campaign.

The original Dino Run was released in 2015 and was incredibly popular with critics and gamers alike. The ambitious sequel is being developed in stages, with Kickstarter funding critical to launching the Early Access version in 2026. The campaign goes live on September 2, 2025. All backers who pledge $10 or more get instant access to this sandbox, even before the campaign reaches its goal.

As a preview of what’s to come, Pixeljam has already released the project’s first major milestone to previous supporters. The exclusive pack is a fully playable multiplayer sandbox. Built with custom netcode that requires no servers and is designed to last for decades. This sandbox features world-building tools, online and LAN multiplayer, and early access to the systems that will power the full game.
