Mole Mania DX is a patched version of the Game Boy puzzle game Mole Mania, that runs in color on the Game Boy Color.
Mole Mania was originally released on Game Boy between 1996 and 1997, and nearly 30 years on, the game is now playable in color for the first time, in the form of Mole Mania DX.
The Mole Mania DX ROM hack for Game Boy Color has been created by coder Marc Max, with graphics by Kensu William.
In order to get Mole Mania DX for Game Boy Color, you will need a ROM dump of the US or European version of the Mole Mania Game Boy cartridge, which you can then patch at this link.
The patched Mole Mania DX ROM can then be run on Game Boy Color hardware, or by using a Game Boy Color emulator, allowing you to play Mole Mania in color for the first time ever.
Mole Mania was well reviewed on release but has not as of yet seen any rereleases on modern platforms. Perhaps it might reach the Nintendo Classics library on Nintendo Switch Online? Until it does, you can patch the original Game Boy ROM and enjoy the new unofficial color remaster of the game in the form of Mole Mania DX on Game Boy Color.
