Producer of Dragon Quest Leaving After 32 Years

Yū Miyake, a veteran producer for the iconic Dragon Quest series, will be departing from his role after a remarkable 32-year tenure, as revealed by a recent Bloomberg report.

Beginning his journey with Enix/Square Enix back in 1992, Miyake‘s inaugural role was part of the “production staff” for Dragon Quest V: Hand of the Heavenly Bride.

Progressing through various roles including public relations and production, Miyake‘s influence extended across the franchise, with his latest feats including executive producer credits on titles such as Dragon Quest XI S: Echoes of an Elusive Age, Dragon Quest Treasures, and Dragon Quest Monsters: The Dark Prince.

The executive left his role due to project delays, per Bloomberg. He stepped down last Monday amid a big company shuffle. He’s moving to head the smartphone unit, and Yosuke Saito may take over his old job.
