Super Mario 64 Speedrunner Smashes World Record in Infamous Level

Speedrunner Dwhatever achieved a new world record in the Tick Tock Clock stage of Super Mario 64, despite characterizing his performance as “sloppy.” This particular stage is renowned for its challenging nature, demanding precise movements and featuring random elements like the trajectory of coins and the placement of obstacles such as the Thwomp.

Dwhatever initially set a record of 56.16 on July 5 which was swiftly surpassed by an even quicker time of 55.80 on July 8, marking the first sub-56-second completion of the star combo. Dwhatever‘s approach involved a strategic deviation to gather an additional red coin, demonstrating the potential for further enhancements in the world record.

I’m Yousiff Taqi, born in ’87, and I’ve been a huge fan of retro games for as long as I can remember. My favorites are RPGs, Platformers, and Action Adventure. I’ve been interested in computers ever since I was young, which is why I pursued a Bachelor’s in Computer Engineering from Purdue University. Now, armed with my passion for both retro gaming and computer engineering, I’m excited to embark on new adventures in the world of technology, where I hope to merge my interests and make meaningful contributions. https://www.instagram.com/Aeon https://twitter.com/FencerDarkwind
